Museum Information

Our museum houses a vast collection of artifacts, photographs, and documents that tell the story of Czech immigration to Texas. From traditional folk costumes to vintage farming tools, each exhibit offers a window into the Czech-American experience.

From Houston:

  • Take I-10 West towards San Antonio
  • Exit onto TX-71 West towards La Grange
  • In La Grange, turn right onto W Fairgrounds Rd
  • TCHCC will be on your right after 0.5 miles

From Austin:

  • Take US-290 East towards Houston
  • In Giddings, turn right onto TX-77 South
  • In La Grange, turn left onto W Fairgrounds Rd
  • TCHCC will be on your right after 0.5 miles

Parking:

  • Free parking available on-site

  • Founded: 1982
  • Mission: Preservation of Czech culture and heritage in Texas
  • Contribution: Provided initial funding and artifacts

Texas Czech Genealogical Society

  • Founded: 1989
  • Mission: Assist in tracing Czech ancestry
  • Contribution: Established our genealogy research center

Texans of Czech Ancestry (TCA)

  • Founded: 1973
  • Mission: Promote Czech culture through festivals and events
  • Contribution: Organized fundraising events for TCHCC construction

Czech Educational Foundation of Texas

  • Founded: 1954
  • Mission: Support Czech language education
  • Contribution: Developed our language program curriculum

Texas Polka Music Association

  • Founded: 1991
  • Mission: Preserve and promote Czech polka music
  • Contribution: Donated instruments and recordings for our music exhibit
